Group that runs Sligo Regional Hospital apologises to Rowlette family
Sligo Regional Hospital has issued an apology to the husband and family of Sally Rowlette, who died in their care last year.
The 36-year-old died after giving birth to her fourth child in February 2013.
The jury at the inquest into Mrs Rowlette's death returned a verdict of death by medical misadventure yesterday.
In a statement this evening, Saolta University Health Care Group, which runs the hospital, offered their condolences for the events which contributed to her "tragic" death.
The group said they wanted to reassure their patients that the delivery of safe patient care continues to be a priority at Sligo Regional.
It says it has made a number of improvements in recent years to the Maternity and Intensive Care Units.
