Cash deliveries no longer escorted by gardaí and military

Bank deliveries which can be worth up to millions of euro are being carried out without the assistance of Gardaí and the Defence Forces.

It is understood the cash-in-transit escort security, which had accompanied deliveries outside Dublin, ceased operating two weeks ago.
