Weather warning in effect tonight for heavy rain
Met Éireann has issued a weather alert over heavy rainfall for 16 counties and all of Munster and Connacht, with local flooding possible in many areas.
An orange alert has been issued for Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath and Monaghan from 6am tomorrow morning until 9am on Friday, with two separate spells of heavy rain likely present 20 – 60mm of precipitation.
There is also a yellow rainfall warning in effect for Munster, Connacht, and also Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan and Donegal. Between 25 – 40mm of rain is expected, with a risk of local flooding.
That yellow warning is in effect from midnight tonight until 8pm Thursday evening.
