Dolores O’Riordan arrested after alleged assault on flight

Singer Dolores O’Riordan has been arrested in Shannon after an alleged assault on board a flight from New York.

The Cranberries singer was detained after a member of staff on the Aer Lingus flight from JFK was allegedly assaulted.

Gardaí were called to the airport just before 6am this morning and it is understood a member of the force was also assaulted.

She was taken to Shannon Garda station where she is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
