Howlin to open conference on public service accountability

A conference on responsibility and accountability in the public service will get underway this morning at the Institute of Public Administration in Dublin.

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin will make the opening address.

Kevin Rafter, who recently chaired a civil service review for the Government, will provide an insight into the themes that emerged during that process.

The Government says it is committed to bringing about greater accountability in the public service, as set out in the Civil Service Renewal Plan published last week.
