A 28 year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of a 27-year-old woman and her eight year-old daughter in Killorglin in June 2013.

A 28 year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of a 27-year-old woman and her eight year-old daughter in Killorglin in June 2013.

Aurimas Andruska, with an address at Ardmoniel Heights, Killorglin, had pleaded not guilty to the murder of Jolanta Lubiene and Enrika Lubyte.

The mother and child were found stabbed to death in their home at Langford Downs, Killorglin on the June 16 last year.

In the past hour, the jury at the Tralee sitting of the Central Criminal Court returned the guilty verdict on both counts, following two and a half hours of deliberation.

The trial, which ran for 19 days, heard evidence from dozens of witnesses.
