Most would rather die at home, survey confirms

Almost three-quarters of Irish people (74%) want to die at home - according to a new survey by the Irish Hospice Foundation.
The Irish Attitudes to Death, Dying and Bereavement report reveals that of those who lost someone close to them in the last two years, 38% died in hospital, 26% at home, 12% in a nursing home and 11% in a hospice.
The poll of just under 900 adults also reveled a high level of dissatisfaction among the level of care for people who are dying or terminally ill.
