Fingers crossed ahead of €140m Euromillions draw

Irish Euromillions players will again be hoping to beat the odds to win tonight's €140m antiodote to Budget Day.

The top prize has been won in Ireland four times in the past 12 months.

“The odds of winning the Euromillions are 1 in 116 million,” said Eleanor Murphy, information officer with the National Lottery.

“With the Budget, it would be fantastic to beat those odds and have that in your bank account.

“With a jackpot win of that amount, really anything is possible.

“We meet winners every day and they tell us that they’re going to buy new cars, go on holidays and pay off their mortgages, but really with €140m, the world is your oyster.”
