Man pleads not guilty to murder of mother and daughter in Kerry

A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a mother and daughter in Killorglin in Co Kerry last year.

Aurimas Andruska of 7 Ardmoniel Heights, Killorglin, is charged with the murders of Jolanta Lubiene and her daughter Enrika on a date between June 15 and 17, 2013.

The bodies of the 27-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter were discovered at their home at 9 Langford Downs - both had been stabbed to death.

The trial, which is due to last between three and four weeks, is being heard before Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy and a jury of seven women and five men.
