Man killed in Dublin collision

A 62-year-old man has died following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Dublin city centre this morning.
It happened on James Street close to Steeven's Lane at approximately 2.40am.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to the mortuary at St James Hospital.
The driver of the car - a 58-year-old man - was taken by ambulance to St James Hospital for treatment. His injuries are believed to be minor.

The road was closed while gardaĂ carried out a technical examination, but has since re-opened.
