O'Sullivan believes McNulty row is a Fine Gael issue
Labour Party minister Jan O'Sullivan said the prospect of John McNulty accepting a seat in the Seanad is a matter for Fine Gael.
O'Sullivan will also not say whether she voted for John McNulty in the Seanad by-election.
It is understood that Mr McNulty has been contacted by a large number of TDs who want him to accept the Seanad seat if he wins the election, despite pulling out of the race three days ago.
Meanwhile, a fellow candidate in the Seanad by-election Gerard Craughwell added he would expect John McNulty to resign if he still wins the seat.
John McNulty withdrew from the Seanad by-election on Tuesday, however it was too late to get him off the ballot paper.
Speaking to Highland Radio News Independent candidate Craughwell added John McNulty would lose all his integrity if he accepted the seat.
“Does he want to continue on, on the basis of a stroke,” asked Craughwell.
“If he took the seat, I think any integrity he has tried to display up till now goes out the window at that stage.”
