TD Feighan avoids comment on elbowing incident
Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan has said he is not able to make any further comment in relation to an incident in Roscommon last week in which he elbowed a protestor in the ribs.
John McDermott was part of a small group of demonstrators hoping to speak with the Taoiseach, who was on a visit to the town on Friday.
However, Deputy Feighan intervened and elbowed Mr Mc Dermott in the ribs several times.
He has since apologised for the incident saying he overreacted.
