A man has died following an overnight house fire in Bray, Co Dublin, gardaí have confirmed this morning.

A man has died following an overnight house fire in Bray, Co Dublin, gardaí have confirmed this morning.

The incident, which Gardaí have referred to as "suspicious", occurred shortly before 4.30am.

The 55-year-old man was taken from the house by the Fire Brigade. CPR was administered, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His body remains at the scene.

A male aged in his 20s was also in the house but was not injured.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination. The office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Gardaí in Bray are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Oldcourt Avenue, Bray before 4.30am to contact them on 01 6665300, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
