Man held after Dublin stairwell stabbing

A man remains in garda custody following a stabbing in Dublin.

A woman in her 40s is fighting for her life after she was stabbed in the stairwell of the School Street flats in Dublin's south inner city.

The stabbing happened as she was leaving for work at a nearby creche yesterday morning.

A man in his 40s was arrested by gardaí a short time later and is being held at Kevin Street garda station.
