Body found in Kerry thought to be lone climber who fell ill
A man's body has been recovered from the MacGillicuddy Reeks in Co Kerry.
It is believed the man was climbing alone when he became ill and died.
He was unresponsive when found by another climber on the ridge between Carrauntoohill and Caher Mountain at around 5.30pm.
Members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue team and the Coastguard helicopter from Shannon attended the scene and the man was airlifted to Kerry General Hospital.
He was later pronounced dead and a post mortem is expected to be carried out to determine the cause of his death.
