Charleville deaths: Third body discovered in nearby town

Gardaí investigating the discovery of the bodies of twin boys in north Cork, have discovered a third body.

The boys' bodies were discovered at about 5.30pm in the Deerpark area of Charleville, on the Limerick side of the town. They are thought to have been eight or nine years old.

It is understood there are signs they may have suffered violent deaths.

It is also understood a house has been sealed off in the Deerpark area of the town. The main Cork to Limerick Road has been closed to traffic between O’Rourke’s Cross and Charleville as preliminary investigations continue.

In the last few minutes, it has been reported that gardaí have discovered a third body - that of an older male - in the nearby town of Buttevant.

It is believed the discovery of his body is connected to the earlier discovery of the twin boys' bodies.

More as we get it.
