The National Off-Licence Association is calling on the Government to reverse excise duties which have been imposed on alcohol in the last two budgets.

Noffla says over 580 jobs have been lost in the sector as a direct result of the increase in duties in the last two budgets, representing over a third of off-licences.

The group's chairperson Evelyn Jones said 550 off-licences had closed or lapsed since 2008 because they could not afford to stay in business.
