Govt to release 6k homes this year for 90,000 on social housing waiting list

Up to 6,000 new homes are to be made available to people on social housing waiting lists by the end of this year.

That is about 1,000 ahead of target for 2014, thanks to €20m in additional funding that is bringing vacant local authority properties back into use.
