Flooding at hospital emergency department

The emergency department at Letterkenny General Hospital in Co Donegal has flooded again.

A torrential downpour at around 7pm this evening, caused water to flow into the hospital.

The full extent of the damage is not yet known, but local fire services are currently at the scene.

Letterkenny General was devastated by flooding just over a year ago leading to a repair bill that will run into tens of millions of euro.

Flood preventative measures had been put in place – but eyewitnesses say the water flooding the hospital this time appears to be coming from a different direction.
