Dubliners may be called on to a pay a congestion charge for driving into the city in a bid to tackle peak traffic problems.

The National Transport Authority has said unless the proposed charge is introduced before 2020 the Government will be unable to meet its target of reducing car commuting levels to 45% of all journeys.
