Gardaí probe Dublin assault after shocking video posted online

Gardai in Pearse Street, Dublin are investigating an assault in the city centre on St. Patrick's Day, which was captured on camera.

The video, which shows a young man being kicked in the head and in the face in broad daylight, has gone viral, quickly spreading on social media platforms last night.

The shocking footage, shot on Aston Quay in Dublin's city centre during St Patrick's festival celebrations, shows witnesses screaming as the attack takes place, with revellers running into the street to help the victim.

Gardaí this morning confirmed that the matter was under investigation.
