ESB: Power restored for 99% of storm-affected customers by tonight

The ESB says 99% of customers who were left without power following last week's storms will have their electricity restored by tonight.

Some 280,000 customers were left without power following the storm, but less than 2,000 will remain without power after tonight.

The ESB says the vast majority of customers should have their electricity back by tomorrow evening, but the remaining few will be back on Friday.

Crews will work over the weekend to complete repairs, if there are any homes left without power at that stage.
