Want to get married at Newgrange or the Rock of Cashel?
The OPW is offering couples intending on getting married in a civil ceremony the option of tying the knot at one of the country's heritage sites.
The move means that some of Ireland's most beautiful and atmospheric attractions could be made available for a couple's big day.
Minister of State Brian Hayes said the OPW wants to open up key sites like Newgrange and the Rock of Cashel to more visitors by offering a greater variety of uses.
OPW staff are currently working with the HSE to assess the suitability of various properties.
Approved sites will only be the venue for the official civil ceremony itself, and not for receptions afterward.
