Constitutional Convention recommends removal of blasphemy offence

The Constitutional Convention has published its report calling for the offence of blasphemy to be removed.
It recommends that blasphemy is replaced by a new general ban on incitement to religious hatred.
The recommendations have now been formally submitted to the Government who have four months to respond.
Convention Chairman Tom Arnold has thanked the members for their commitment, and he said he is looking forward to the Government's reply.
