A 67-year-old man has died after he was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the main Killarney to Cork road this afternoon, gardaí said.

A 67-year-old man has died after he was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the main Killarney to Cork road this afternoon, gardaí said.

The crash took place on the N22 at around 3.30pm

The man, the driver and sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Kerry General Hospital

The road was closed for a forensic collision examination but has since re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who has any information to contact them in Killarney on 064 6671160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
