Man held after €200k cannabis haul in Clare

A man has been arrested after a drugs seizure in Ennis, Co Clare last night.

Gardaí searched a houseat Kilvoyden, Spancill Hill at about 10pm during a planned operation and found cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €200,000.

The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Ennis Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. He can be detained for up to seven days.

The scene remains preserved and a technical examination of the area will take place later today.
