Close to 3,000 homes in the west of Dublin city were without power last night following an outage.

Close to 3,000 homes in the west of Dublin city were without power last night following an outage.

Traffic lights and street lighting were also affected by the blackout which struck at the height of rush hour.

ESB says two faults reported at Coolmine and Mulhuddart were to blame.

Emergency crews have been working to fix the problem, and it is believed everything is now operating normally.
