Man charged with woman's murder in Mayo

A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with the killing of Sarah Staunton in Co. Mayo.

He is expected to appear before a special sitting of Ballina District Court at 3.30pm this afternoon.

Ms Staunton's body was found slumped inside the doorway of a house, in a rural area near Balla on Saturday afternoon.

It is understood the 28-year-old mother of two suffered severe head injuries.
