Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Dublin yesterday.

The victim, who has been named locally as 41-year-old Edward O'Connor, was shot on the Ballycoolin Road in Finglas at around 5pm yesterday evening.

Gardaí have arrested a man and a woman in connection with last night's fatal gun attack.

The victim was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.

A full post mortem will be carried out today, and the scene of the shooting from the Premier Business Park to the Cappagh Road, remains sealed off this morning for a technical examination.

Investigating officers are calling for anyone who may have seen the shooting or knows anything about it to come forward.
