Athlone shopping centre enters receivership

The Athlone Towncentre Shopping Centre has entered receivership today.

The shopping centre, the car parks and 150 apartments - which have already been let - are now under the control of Stephen Tennant and Paul McCann of Grant Thornton, who were appointed as joint receivers by AIB, with the consent of the owners.

All of the shops at Athlone Towncentre will continue to trade as normal.
