Medical devices firm creates 38 jobs in Cork

Thirty-eight new jobs are being created at De Puy Ireland in Cork.

The company, which is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, said it had already begun hiring for the positions and is primarily looking for candidates at masters and PhD level.

It is part of a $36m (€26m) research and development investment project.

The five-year project is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through IDA Ireland.

DePuy Ireland established a manufacturing facility in Ringaskiddy, Cork, in 1997 and manufactures orthopaedic products for global markets.
