Senior garda suggests private security firms for serving warrants and fine collection

A senior garda has suggested private security firms might have to be hired to carry out tasks like serving warrants and collecting fines.

Speaking at a conference, the assistant garda commissioner said ongoing cutbacks may mean having to transfer some jobs to civillian workers or local authorities.
