Man dies in Dublin car accident

A man has died following a crash in South Dublin.

The man in his 40s was the sole occupant of a car that hit a pole on Churchtown Road Lower in Churchtown just before 2am this morning.

He was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
