Police arrest man as he tries to hijack women's car in Belfast
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Belfast, after an attempted hijacking in the city this morning.
At around 8am a man pushed his way past two women who had just got out of their parked car at College Square North and attempted to drive it away.
The women struggled with the man and alerted a passing police patrol who intervened.
Two officers were assaulted in the course of the arrest and the women were left badly shocked.
The man is being questioned about attempted hijacking, assault on police, resisting police and attempted criminal damage.
