Former Lord Mayor of Cork found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl

A former Lord Mayor of Cork has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in the 1990s.

John Murray of Gregg Road, Cork was found guilty of five counts of assaulting the victim between 1996 and 1998.

The jury took six hours to reach their verdicts.

A judge remanded Murray in custody for sentence early next month.
