Woman dies in Cork car accident overnight

A woman has died following a crash in Co. Cork overnight.

The accident is believed to have happened sometime between 10pm last night and 7am this morning.

A 36-year-old woman, who was the only occupant of the car, was killed when the vehicle left the road at Tooreen, Skibbereen.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area overnight to contact them at Bantry Garda station.
