Gilmore: More EU checks on economy does not infringe sovereignty

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said that Europe's monitoring of Ireland's economy - despite our bailout exit - does not infringe on our sovereignty.

The EU and European Central Bank will conduct twice-yearly checks on our progress from when we leave the programme next month - and determine if we'll be able to pay off our debts.
