Officers from Revenue's Customs Service assisted by an Garda Síochána have uncovered a sophisticated fuel laundering plant in a commercial premises in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service assisted by an Garda Síochána have uncovered a sophisticated fuel laundering plant in a commercial premises in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.

The discovery was a result of a joint operation and the plant has the capacity to launder a total of 10 million litres per year with a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €5m per year.
