Shatter meets his northern counterpart to discuss cross-border ops

The Minister for Justice and his Northern Counterpart have met to discuss on-going cross border co-operation across a range of criminal justice matters.

Alan Shatter and David Ford have held talks on the fringes of a Cross Border Public Protection Seminar at Hillsborough Castle.

They discussed improving support for victims of crime, tackling organised criminality, protecting citizens and addressing the ongoing security situation.

The seminar involves representatives from probation services, police, prison and the Justice Departments North and South to consider what works in preventing offending and keeping communities safer as well as responses for young adult offenders.
