Relief for many as nightly water restrictions lifted

The Restaurants Association of Ireland has expressed relief that the nightly water restrictions in Dublin, which have been in place since Wednesday last, are being lifted this evening.

CEO of the RAI, Adrian Cummins, has called for an urgent meeting with the Media Relations Office of Dublin City Council to improve their communication channel with the restaurant and hospitality industry in case any future issues arise.

Cummins highlighted that on average, the cost of these water restrictions on affected businesses has been as much as €5,000 per night.

Dublin City Council said that water restrictions are being greatly eased across the capital but there will be some pressure reductions.

The council says the restrictions are being lifted due to an increase in production at the Ballymore Eustace facility and improvements in storage at the councils treated water reservoirs.
