Two held in Monaghan in connection with dissident republican activity

Two men are being held at Monaghan garda station as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity.

Gardaí are continuing to question two men as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity.

They stopped a van in Monaghan town in the early hours of yesterday morning and discovered bomb making components, including a quantity of fertiliser.

The items and the van were seized, and and the men, aged 25 and 50, were arrested at the scene.

They are being held at Monaghan Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
