Two men are being held at Monaghan garda station as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity.

Gardaí are continuing to question two men as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity.

They stopped a van in Monaghan town in the early hours of yesterday morning and discovered bomb making components, including a quantity of fertiliser.
