Drugs worth around €370,000 euro were seized at Dublin Airport over the weekend.

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service detained a man on Friday who had ingested 0.5kg of cocaine in pellet form with a street value of €35,000.

The 34 year-old UK national had arrived on a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

He appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice yesterday before Judge Patrick Clyne where he was remanded in custody to appear again next week.

Separately, in a joint operation with the Garda National Immigration unit yesterday, officers discovered almost 17kg of herbal cannabis with a street value of €335,000 in the baggage of a 42-year-old South African national who had arrived on a flight from Johannesburg.

The man appeared in court earlier where Judge Patricia McNamara remanded him in custody to appear again at Cloverhill Court in one week.
