48 job losses at Waterford based eye care company

Bausch and Lomb have confirmed that 48 temporary staff in Waterford are to be laid off over the coming weeks.

The eye care and contact lens plant said that it is due to a rebalancing of manufacturing needs in the facility.

The staff are temporary weekend workers from the contact lens facility.

Bausch and Lomb employs 1,100 permanent staff at it's Waterford plant.
