Man due in Cavan court in connection with murder

A man accused of murdering Emmett Connolly in Co. Cavan last month is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court later this morning.

29-year-old Kevin Moran - with an address at Lodge View, Cootehill - has been charged with murdering the 32-year-old archaeologist in the early hours of September 29.

Mr Connolly was stabbed to death as he drank with another man in a house in Cootehill.

It is understood he had returned home to Ireland from Australia just two weeks before his murder.
