Bruton: Budget will create 48,000 jobs
More than 48,000 new jobs will be created next year as a result of the measures outlined in Budget 2014.
The estimate was announced by the Minister for Jobs and Enterprise Richard Bruton, speaking at a media briefing following his Cabinet colleague Michael Noonan's budget speech.
The minister said he expects half of those jobs to be delivered by Enterprise Ireland and the IDA.
He said the remaining positions will be created through supply companies and support services.
Bruton also reiterated Minister Noonan's comments that the 12.5% corporation tax rate would remain unchanged, despite comments that international response to Ireland's tax practice would have to be addressed.
