A man has died after a road accident in Co Meath last night.

A man has died after a road accident in Co Meath last night.

Gardaí at Dunshaughlin are investigating the single-vehicle collision which occurred on the Dunshaughlin to Dunboyne Road (R147) just after midnight last night.

A 21-year-old male driver of the car was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a ditch.

Five other people were in the car - three males and two females. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Dunshaughlin Garda Station on 01-8258600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
