Waterford gardaí arrest man after finding loaded shotgun

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s and seized a firearm following a search operation in Co Tipperary.

The man was arrested after gardaí responded to a report of suspicious activity in Fethard.

During the course of the operation they searched a van and recovered a loaded shotgun and a knife.

He is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, at Clonmel garda station.
