Priory Hall residents get deal on mortgage write-offs

The former residents of Priory Hall are waking up to what they have described as a "new beginning" this morning, after last night reaching a deal which will see their mortgages written-off.
It comes after a meeting with the Taoiseach Enda Kenny yesterday evening - who described the residents as the victims of one of the "worst excesses of the Celtic Tiger era".
Under the scheme, owner-occupiers will see the apartments transferred to Dublin City Council with residents given pre-approval to buy new homes.
Former resident Stephanie Meehan, whose partner Fiachra Daly took his own life, said she hopes no one has to go through her ordeal again.
