Dog awarded medal for completing half marathon

A dog has been awarded a medal after completing the majority of a half marathon.

Boogie the pooch ran most of the 13.1 miles in Evansville, Indiana, completing his run in two hours and 15 minutes after escaping from his lead.

Runner Kim Arney says the canine ran with her for the majority of the race after she lost her running buddy near the start.

She explained: "I lost my race buddy about mile four or five and picked up a new one around mile 10."
