A 22-year old man has appeared in court in connection with an alleged fraud at a Cork based call centre - which operated a helpline for queries about the property tax.

A 22-year old man has appeared in court in connection with an alleged fraud at a Cork based call centre - which operated a helpline for queries about the property tax.

Jonathan Gough of Glyntown in Glanmire is charged with four offences relating to the alleged fraud at Abtran, in Curraheen last May.

He is charged with dishonestly by deception inducing three women and a man to provide their banking details.

The court was told that there was no financial loss incurred by any of the injured parties in the case.

The accused was remanded on bail to appear again in court in November.
